Your post-Covid-19 eye exam will look a little different. We have spent the lockdown at the office with doors locked, providing emergency care to our patients, learning as much as we can about this virus, prepping the office for our return to practice, refining our office flow and training our staff. It has been a full-time job! We have purchased 2 air sanitizers which reportedly kill 99.9% of virus in room air.
We have missed you! For the forseeable future we will be seeing far fewer patients per day. We ask that you come alone where possible, wearing a well-fitting clean mask and either phone us as you arrive or knock on the door to be welcomed in. You will be asked questions about possible exposure to COVID and then will be asked to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer. There will be far fewer chairs in reception. There is a new glass partition at the reception desk. We will try to have you immediately seated in the exam room where we will have disinfected everything we can. All of our equipment will be sporting new breath-guards (designed and 3D printed by our own Dr.Jerome). The doctor will be wearing a mask, eye protection and face shield when indicated. Physical distancing means we will have at least 2 items of PPE between you and us at all times.
Once your exam is over, the doctor will ask your ‘personal shopper’ to help you choose your new glasses. While masked you and she will choose frames to try on. Once you are seated at the table, you will be able to remove your mask. Staff will have mask and face shield and will be 2M away from you. Once you have decided on a frame, we will have you remask for measurements. All frames and the table area will be disinfected immediately after each use.
Frames will be pre-adjusted to make pickup easy- either from our porch, at our handy ‘Pick-up Bar’, or by home delivery. Our portable point of sale terminal is tap-enabled.
